Festival Celebration on a heathy note !!!

Kavuni Rice otherwise known as Black Rice is rich source of antioxidants and several nutrients.

Krishna Jayanthi round the corner call for celebrations with specialties made with fondness to offer the cute Lord . This is an attempt to make a offering on a healthy note .The Rice cooked with milk makes it simply special ,the flavour of the rice would like to describe is something chocolatey which sweeps the taste buds totally.

Ingredients :

  • Kavuni / Black Rice 1 cup
  • Milk 1 litre
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Ghee 2 tsp

Method :

  • In a cooker heat ghee ,add washed rice and fry till a nice aroma comes.
  • Add milk ,give it a mix and close and cook under pressure on low flame for 30 – 40 min.
  • When the pressure is released open and give a mix.
  • Add sugar and allow it to cook till raw smell leaves.
  • Drizzle ghee for an enriched flavour.
  • Serve hot / cold .
