Sambar Love !! Must Try !!
Sambar is simply delicious .The dhal cooked with tomato is smooth and to enrich its flavour is the coconut milk .For a breakfast its definitely a super dish .Our households
favourite dish and is present every week .
Ingredients :
- Toor dhal ½ ( cooked )
- Onions 2 ( sliced )
- Tomato 3-4 ( sliced )
- Curry leaves a few
- Red chilly 1
- Sambar Powder ½ – ¾ tsp
- Asafoetida ¼ tsp
- Mustard ¼ tsp
- Urad Dhal ¼ tsp
- Coconut milk ¾ cup
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves to garnish
- Oil 11/2 tbsp
- Ghee 1 tbsp
Method :
- Heat oil in a pan ,throw in mustard as it splutters add urad dhal let it get brown.
- Throw in onions ,curry leaves and one red chilly ,allow it to get brown .
- Throw in tomatoes and let it get mushy .
- Add cooked dhal , sambar powder ,salt , asafoetida ,let it cook till raw smell fades away.
- Then switch off the stove , add coconut milk ,mix well
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Drizzle ghee on top for a scrumptious taste.
- Serve hot with idly / dosa/ pongal.
