Loaded with iron rich beetroot , protein ( toor dhal ) species and coconut is simply a beautiful combination.
Ingredients :
- Beetroot 1 cup ( grated )
- Coconut 3 tbsp
- Fennel ½ tsp
- Red chilly 2 ( to taste )
- Cinnamon 2”
- Coriander leaves a handful
- Toor dhal 3 tbsp ( soaked for 2 hrs )
- Salt to taste
- Oil to deep fry
Method :
- Heat oil in a pan , add grated beetroot and fry well ,till it becomes dry.
- Grind the dhal, chilly ,curry leaves ,fennel ,cinnamon ,half of the coriander leaves ,salt and coconut coarsely.
- To this add the beetroot and grind such that the vegetable blends well with dhal mixture
- Add the remaining chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
- Make small balls and set aside.
- Heat oil , flatten the round and fry to golden brown .
- Serve hot.
