Curried Prawns

Prawns is the tastiest of sea foods in my opinion .Prawn is cooked with whole spices ,curry powder and ginger garlic ,which results in a delicious gravy . One can never go wrong with this recipe and it is easy to make too.

Ingredients :

  • Prawns 200 gms
  • Onions 2 ( sliced )
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Curry powder ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a paste :

  • Ginger ½ ‘
  • Garlic 2 pearls
  • Green chilly 4
  • Cloves 2
  • Cinnamon 2”

Method :

  • Marinate the prawns for minimum of 30 min with the ground paste .
  • In a pan heat oil ,throw in onions and curry leaves .Let it get brown .
  • Add the marinated prawns with little water and give it a good mix .Close and cook (10 min )
  • Make sure prawns don’t get over cooked as it would get rubbery.
  • Check if the prawns are cooked ,if so simmer till oil floats on the surface.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves .
  • Serve hot with rice or pathri (rice roti ) or roti.
