Jeera Pulao is one of the easiest of its kind. Its highly aromatic and enriched with flavour.

The Jeera Pulao is a good combination with all gravies .Its kids friendly too ,as its mild flavour and spice free.

Ingredients :

  • Basmati rice 11/2 cups
  • Cumin 11/2 tsp
  • Red chilly 2
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Ghee 11/2 – 2 tbsp
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • In a pressure cooker boil water ( 3 cups ) ,add salt to taste and oil .
  • Add washed basmati rice give it a mix and cook for 10 -12 min.
  • Release the pressure, open the cooker and gently mix it.
  • In a tadka pan heat ghee ,add cumin /jeera ,allow it to splutter.
  • Add curry leaves and red chilly to it , give it a mix and transfer it over the rice.
  • Gently mix it.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves .
  • Serve hot with kurma / any non veg gravy.
