Basically a Mangalorean dish .This is an all time favourite in our household .Sheera can be made easily and quickly. Semolina blends well with ghee and sugar ,which is always drooling. To enrich the Sheera and take it to the next level pineapple is added and is simply made heavenly.

Ingredients:

  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Pineapple 1 cup ( chopped )
  • Ghee ¾ cup
  • Cashew 7-8
  • Raisins 10 -15
  • Yellow colouring a pinch ( optional )

Method:

  • In a pan roast the cashews and raisins and set aside.
  • Roast semolina in ghee and set aside.
  • Boil milk with water ( ½ – ¾ cup approx. )
  • Add colouring to it.
  • Add sugar and mix well ,let it fully dissolve.
  • Now slowly add the roasted semolina ,mixing it well ,taking care that lumps are not formed.
  • Close and cook on low flame.
  • Add ghee at regular intervals ,such that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • When the semolina is cooked switch off the flame .
  • Add the chopped pineapple pieces and give a mix.
  • Garnish with the roasted cashew and raisins.
  • Serve hot.

Note:
