Vermicelli & Sabudana  Payasam

Asimle yummy payasam which is most sought after by one & all !!

Its very easy to make & easy on the stomach too !!

Go to simple easy dish which comes to rescue when there is a sweet craving !!

Ingredients :-

  • Vermicelli 100 gms
  • Sabudana 100 gms
  • Sugar 1 -11/2 cup sugar( to taste )
  • Ghee 1- tbsp
  • Cashew a few
  • Raisins a few
  • Cardamon powder ¼ tsp
  • Milk 1 – 11/2 cup

Method :-

  • In a tava add ghee & fry vermicelli & sabudana separately .
  • Take a heavy bottomed vessel add abot 2 cups water ,letit boil.
  • Add the vermicelli & sabudana.
  • Allow it to cook till both are soft.
  • Make use these does not get over cooked for it would get slimy.
  • Add sugar & simmer it giving it a mix now & then.( chances of it getting burnt is high )
  • Wait till raw smell of the sugar fades.
  • Switch off the stove.
  • In a small kadai heat ghee roast cashew & rasins separately add to the payasam.
  • Garnish with cardamon powder.
  • Add milk to bring it to the required consistency.

Note :-

  • When more richness in the dish is preferred one can cook it with water & milk mix.Say 1 cup milk & 1 cup water can be used instead of water fully.This would result in a very smooth rich payasam.
