Potato Podimas is a simple dish but will be present in a veg spread at our household .This dish can never go wrong and steals the taste buds without fail. This was my favourite dish as a kid and it would always take a place in the lunch box every week without fail. If when there was a question what was wanted for lunch , this dish was definitely asked for.
Ingredients :
- Potatoes 150 gms(boiled &smashed)
- Coconut 2-3 tbsp (grated)
- Small Onions 4-5(chopped )
- Green Chilly 1
- Curry leaves a few
- Mustard 1/4tsp
- Urad dhal 1/4 tsp
- Channa dhal 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric 1/4 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil 1 tsp
Method :
- In a pan heat oil ,throw in mustard ,urad dhal and channa dhal one one by one, let it splutter.
- Throw in green chilly ,curry leaves and onions and toss, till the colour changes.
- Now add the grated coconut and give a mix.
- Add the potatoes ,salt and lime juice and mix well.
- Let it blend well .
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
