Healthy Protein enriched curry !!
Its an authentic recipe which has used for three generations or more .The green gram cooked with blend of species is too good to resist .This is also a super easy and kids would love it !!
Ingredients :
- Sprouted green gram 1 cup
- Small onions a few ( chopped )
- Tomato 1
- Salt to taste
- Mustard 1/4 tsp
- Urad dhal 1/4 tsp
- Oil 11/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves a few
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Fry in oil & grind :
- Red chilly 2
- S Onions 10
- Turmeric ¼ tsp
- Coriander powder ½ tsp
- Puffed gram ½ – 1 tsp
- Coconut 11/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves a few
- Tamarind ½ ‘ ( optional )
Method :
- In a pressure pan heat oil ,add mustard ,let it splutter.
- Add urad dhal ,allow it to splutter.
- Add onions and toss for it to get brown.
- Add tomato and let it get mushy.
- Toss in curry leaves .
- Add the sprouted gram ,salt water ,stir it.
- Close the lid and cook under pressure for 7 – 10 min.
- Slowly release the pressure .
- Add the ground paste with water and salt ( if need be it ) .
- Cook till raw smell fades ,stirring on and off .
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice ,roti, dosa.
